The High School Religious Education program at St. James has two components: core
(required) courses and elective courses. In order to be admitted to Confirmation
preparation, students must complete four core courses (Faith & Identity, Jesus & the
Gospels, Church, and Morality) and two different electives of their choosing.
Please register for the course(s) you wish to take this fall. Once a course is full, you will
have to make another selection. We will keep you posted! Below, you will find a 
beside the courses that you have already taken (remember you cannot take an elective
that you have already taken!!).

BE SURE TO CHECK THE DATES A COURSE IS OFFERED WITH YOUR FAMILY
CALENDAR. YOU ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND ALL CLASSES.
 For required courses, only two absences are allowed, and make-up work for
these absences must be handed in within one week of the end of the course.
 For elective courses, students must attend all sessions
Class sessions on Sunday, Sept. 13, 20, 27, Oct. 4, 18, 25, Nov. 1, 8, 15 and 23
6:00 – 7:30 PM in the Parish Center lower-level classrooms
We will be offering Jesus & the Gospels for 9th grade students (and anyone else who
needs this course) and Morality for 10th grade students.
There will be the possibility of taking a core course and electives this summer. We will
need catechists, and then we will be able to set the dates. Please consider teaching a
course! We will inform everyone by email.
