FACULTY OPPORTUNITIES Murray State University: The Journal of Business and Management Landscapes … Call for Submissions. JBML seeks to publish top-quality manuscripts representing research from any conventional or emerging area of business and management, as well as their allied disciplines. Its scope and mission reflect the changing needs for and of academic and practitioner research in an environment already impenetrably dense with information. Toward that end, JBML is especially interested in manuscripts that reflect, develop, contest or contribute to “best practices” “state of the art” or meta-analytic literature in any viable content area of business, management and their allied disciplines in order to discern the evolutionary viability of research work in any problem domain. All submissions are double-blind peer reviewed. Visit their website at jbml.org FACULTY Research “We are glad to introduce to you the Journals Consortium Archive of Postgraduate Dissertations. Postgraduate thesis/dissertations are resources of immense research value across academic disciplines. Unfortunately, most thesis/dissertations tend to be restricted to university libraries and archives. Journals Consortium Postgraduate Archive http://pgd.journalsconsortium.org/ provides a new and exciting way of digitally archiving postgraduate thesis/dissertations. This enables postgraduate students to archive their thesis/dissertations by uploading them to the Journals Consortium Postgraduate Archive platform. This not only extend these thesis/dissertations work from university libraries to the global academic community, but also gives them a global audience and better chances for these thesis/dissertations to be cited by other researchers. Using the Open Access model, these thesis /dissertations will be freely available to all researchers by simply visiting the Journals Consortium Postgraduate Archive website. Please inform your colleagues and students of this archive and encourage them to submit their postgraduate theses/dissertations.” Symposium: Call for Abstracts ……Journal of International & Interdisciplinary Business Research jiibr@mail.com A Read from the Chronicle: “Financial Literacy: Can it be taught? Should Colleges Even Try?” https://shar.es/1sGVJA An opinion from Cooper Dixon: “I land on the side that it is useful, because twenty years of teaching financial literacy classes and conducting less formal training has convinced me that the efforts are worthwhile. However, I agree with the views that the process needs to be reevaluated and possibly updated. For example, I feel that we could incorporate a case approach into the process, in addition to the other traditional informational resources. When the semester starts I suggest that we determine the School of Business's (as well as HSU's) interest in such an activity. If we move forward in creating a financial literacy program the approach that I envision would be campus-wide, and it would include contributions from both faculty and students. Perhaps the student contribution could be incorporated into some of our courses and in the GAs' assignments…….. It would be an excellent way to provide service to all of HSU's alums and serve as an excellent tool to help stay in contact with our former students.” Please share your thoughts with Cooper.
