Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Thomas Street’s Library November 10th to 14th We invite you to come and share in this celebration of books and reading with us. A Book Fair is a great way to connect students with books they want to read. To help your child find the newest and best books, he or she will visit the Fair during class time. Students will be allowed to purchase books during that visit, but we also encourage your child to create a Book Fair “Wish List”, which they can then share with you at home. Family Night is Thursday, November 13th from 3:00 – 8:30 pm. It’s a perfect time to explore the affordable books and products with your children. If you can’t make it Thursday, we’ll be open Friday morning from 8:30 – 11:30 am. We encourage you to take the time for this special event and check out what is available for the young adolescent reader today. Remember, a portion of the sales benefits our school directly. By purchasing books and supporting our Book Fair, you enable our school to obtain additional books and educational resources for our school library. See you at the Fair!! This is for outstanding, cutting edge HPE program and our great clubs, teams, intramurals and school wide events. Great job Thomas Street. On October 20 & 21 Mrs. Nebel had the privilege of taking the girls and boys Football Teams to Tomken Rd. Senior Public School for the yearly tournament. A big thank you to Ms. Allibon for accompanying her on Tuesday. Both teams braved the cold rainy conditions and played extremely well. They fought hard to beat their opponents and managed to win several of their games. We are very proud of both teams and enjoyed watching the amazing talent on the field. Congratulations to both teams for coming in 5th place overall. Football is such an exciting sport and we hope you all consider playing next year, whether here at Thomas Street, or in high school. Ms. Russo and Ms. Stanley would like to send out a huge congratulations to everyone who competed in the Fall Fun Run meet on October 22nd . It was a fun morning and they did an outstanding job! The season will wrap up with the Final four playoffs on here at TSMS. Our Girls Field Hockey teams endured cold weather, strong winds, flying canopies and stray raccoons yesterday at our tournament at Hillcrest on . In typical TSMS spirit, we came out strong and our teams played hard! Congratulations for placing SECOND! Your coaches are SO proud of you! Thanks for a great and eventful season! Remembrance Day Assembly To: Parents and Guardians When: Tuesday November 11th, 2014 10:15 am Where: Thomas Street Middle School Gymnasium Why: Remember the soldiers who sacrificed their life for peace The Royal Canadian Legion will be supplying poppies for each student in the school. We would ask each student to make a donation towards this. It's the end of October, which means the cheerleading season is well underway. Our team is unique as the girls work-out and practice solely at the PCT Cobras gym, a local Mississauga cheerleading club. This year, our team is coached by Terrel (Tee Tee) Baker who is a member of PCT Cobras and Erika Schmid who is a member of Cheerforce Wolfpack. Even though the girls have only been practicing for a short time, they are picking up skills and looking more and more like team every week. With new music, stunts, and dance routines to learn in the coming weeks, it's going to be an exciting time for our team! We're looking forward to a great season!
