Animal Cell Terms
Nucelolus:
Nucleus:
Produces Ribosomes for Protein Synthesis
The Brain of the cell. Contains DNA
Cell Membrane: Protective Barrier and lets things in and out of the cell.
Mitochondria: Provide energy for cell to move, divide, and create products.
Vacuoles: Intestine of cell, involves digestion, and release of waste.
Golgi complex: Packaging materials to be transported to different parts of the cell.
Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum: Ribosomes are found here, so proteins can be synthesized.
Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum: hormone synthesis
Secretory vesicle: cell secretions of hormones and packaged in Golgi complex.
Peroxisome: Protect cell from Hydrogen Peroxide.
Lysosome: enzymes that are necessary for digestion.
Cytoplasm: The “soup” or fat of the cell, made up of water and full of proteins.
