By: Jacob K. Travis J. and Joey L. A school can be like a cell in many ways. Different people and places in a school can be like organelles in a cell. A cell membrane lets nutrients in but protects from viruses like a school’s front door. Cytoplasm allows cellular metabolism to occur like the inside of a school allows education. Jet Bus! Oh Yeah! The Golgi Apparatus packages macromolecules for transport like a bus picks up kids for transport. Lysosomes kills bacteria around a cell like janitors kill bacteria in a school. The boiler room in a school powers it like a mitochondria powers a cell. Mr. Gould The nucleus of a cell contains all the DNA in a cell and controls a cell like a principle controls a school. The Nucleolus creates ribosomes for a cell like a kitchen makes food for us. Ribosomes produce protein for a cell like food gives us protein. The Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum transports protein throughout a cell like a hallway. The Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum does a different job depending on the cell, like a teacher does different jobs depending on the subject. A Vacuole in a cell stores nutrients and gets rid of waste materials and helps a cell grow like the office of a school helps it grow.
