December 6, 2013 The Cultural Arts Center will be offering the following classes beginning the week of January 6 through March 21, 2014 with some classes extending through May 16, 2014. We have one really new class that we are hoping to get some help publicizing since there will be a competition attached to the class with real judges and awards: Teen Ballroom Dance. We would love to get some students that want to learn to compete in the area of ballroom dance, and help students learn to re-establish some of the more graceful and exciting to watch dances in their age groups. Perfect for getting ready for proms and spring formals, we will take groups and work them together, and we will take individuals into the classes. We would like to let the community in your area know about these classes and are asking, if possible, please place this information in the community calendar section of your newspaper or in a short article that describes what is available. If you can place the information each week until January 24, 2014 that will help spread the word. Your help is greatly appreciated. We had an excellent attendance at the last series of classes. If you would like to do an article on the Teen Ballroom Dance Classes, we certainly would be glad to do it and offer you some students who have done this type of class before as photo possibilities. It is something new in the area, and the only other area we have found that does this is in lower Florida where teen dance competitions are great. Please acknowledge that the Children’s Classes are made possible by funding from the Alabama State Arts Council, and the Wells Fargo Foundation.
