The 2015 Homecoming is sure to be bigger and better than ever before, and as a figurehead of the Homecoming Executive Council you will have the opportunity to take a lead role in the planning and execution of one of Florida State’s greatest traditions! Please take the time to check out homecoming.fsu.edu for an overall perspective of the week of events, as well as the attached job descriptions. The time commitment for the position is approximately 20 hours per week. Applicants should be able to maintain a flexible schedule. It is highly preferred candidates for both positions are in Tallahassee during their full term when classes are in session. Please remember that all applicants must have and maintain a 2.0 GPA in order to be eligible to apply for this position and turn in a resume with this application. The members of the Executive Council shall be in charge of all administrative projects regarding Homecoming including the budget, rules and regulations, and events/spirit activities. The number of members on the Council is subject to review each year to reflect the addition or subtraction of Homecoming events in consultation with the Council’s advisor. The Overall Director is chosen by an application and interview process with input from the outgoing Homecoming Overall Director, Homecoming Advisor and the SGA President. It is highly recommended that Overall Director applicants have served on the Executive Council for at least one year before applying for the Director position. The leadership of the Overall Director position is essential to the success of Homecoming events each year and the relationship with the many campus partners it takes for a successful Homecoming week of events. Duties Coordinate the application, interview and selection process for Executive Council positions Assist with the planning of a Homecoming retreat after the new Executive Council has been selected Work with Executive Council members to submit budget requests each spring for their events/areas After yearly budget allocation for Executive Council, distribute the overall budget to the different events/areas Supervise Executive Council members and support them through their tasks and events as related to Homecoming Meet with each Homecoming event/area as needed (i.e. one-on-ones) Assist Executive Council members balance their budgets Schedule and run weekly HC Executive Council meetings Develop a budget proposal with Pow Wow Director and Student Alumni Association Homecoming Chair to present to SGA Senate Budget committee each fall for next year’s Homecoming Sit on the Homecoming Planning Commission within SGA Serve as the student Homecoming liaison to the SGA, University Homecoming Committee and Division of Student Affairs on all matters relating to Homecoming statutes, funding, and events.
