DISCUSSION 4 different budgets: Student Counseling Budget, Student Health Services Budget, Student Activity Fee Budget, Cultural and Recreation Budget. Total available amount to spend is $27,073 from the Student Activity Fee Budget. CONCLUSIONS None ACTION ITEMS NONE 2 MINUTES DISCUSSION PERSON RESPONSIBLE DEADLINE COMMITTEE REPORTS Social – Crystal Moore: Happy Hour – September 9 th 4:30 to 7pm. Social Committee is involved with promoting events on campus by making and handing out flyers, chalking sidewalks, and making announcements. Everyone who is interested is encouraged to join. Meetings will be once or month or on an as needed basis ACTION ITEMS PERSON RESPONSIBLE DEADLINE Contact Crystal Moore to join Social Committee at cmoore8@ouhsc.edu All interested None NEW BUSINESS 25 MINUTES DISCUSSION New Professional Development Fund – Mouhammad Al-Akkoumi: Allots $250 to each student in their academic unit once they have exhausted funds from their own college. This money is used towards enhancing the professional growth of the student such as attendances to national conferences. The New Professional Development Fund will take up to $5,000 from the Student Activity Fee Budget and apply it towards this fund where students may apply to receive the allotted amount once all requirements are met. Paintball Proposal – Blake Crockett: Campus wide paintball event to involve as many people as possible with a request up to $1,000. Event will be held on September 25 th from 10-2 at Sapulpa Paintball Adventure Games. Deadline to sing up is September 17 th. Christella Chavez made a motion to allocate up to $5,000 each year for professional development to include this year. Seconded by Crystal Moore. Vote on motion: 24 in favor. Motion carries. CONCLUSIONS Christella Chavez made a motion to allocate up to $1,000 for paintball with $5 per person to hold your spot. Motion seconded. Vote on motion: 26 in favor (voting members came late). All interested 9/17/10 5 MINUTES OLD BUSINESS Review of completed projects from last year – Full court basketball, volleyball court, disc golf course, plasma TVs. DISCUSSION Review of activities and events – Happy Hour, holiday tree lighting, cultural night, faculty versus student basketball tournament ACTION ITEMS NONE 20 MINUTES PERSON RESPONSIBLE ANNOUNCEMENTS DEADLINE VARIOUS New organization suggestion – Scott Shepherd: POUNDERS, a philanthropy, health promotion and wellness club. This club will be involved in participating or volunteering in events around town such as runs, bike rides, etc. The goal is to reach out and help the community where needed. The first meeting will be held on September 8 th in 2C33 at 6pm Tulsa Run – Cortney Dennis: Entry fee for OU Tulsa students is $10. This includes entry, Tulsa run long sleeve t-shirt, OU Tulsa runner tech shirt. It will be held on October 30 th. Walkers welcome, no dogs or strollers allowed. Deadline to sign up is October 20 th. Schuster-Q – Cortney Dennis: Annual barbeque family friendly event that is open to the public. Free barbeque for first 500 people. September 24 th in the evening around 5pm held partially outside as well as in Founders Hall. DISCUSSION Gym Update/New Fitness Room – Cortney Dennis: Fitness center is open 24 hours a day and is free for all Tulsa students. In the process of giving students a key pad code to access the fitness center instead of checking in with security. College of Public Health voted last year to renovate the lounge near the fitness center to an aerobics room. Classes that will be offered – yoga, pilates, latin cardio, body pump. Changes to Constitution and ByLaws – Mouhammad Al-Akkoumi: Proxies must meet certain requirements, changed meetings to once a month, changed professional development fund as review only. Voting representatives will be sent the new copy of the constitution and bylaws to be reviewed.
