“I have found the therapy sessions that I had of huge benefit. Whilst I still have
ups and downs I feel like I am starting to live again instead of existing.
I am so grateful to my therapist.”
“At first I didn’t know what to expect, but my therapist put me at ease. I never thought
I would be doing the things I am doing now after just a few weeks. It’s been an
amazing journey and something that will stick with me as I become my own therapist.
An excellent service!”
Sometimes feeling stressed, worried or struggling to cope can be a normal reaction to
difficult life events but when these feelings last, as they can do for up to 1 in 4 people,
you may need to seek help.

professionals working with you. There are some limits to this however. If we felt that there
was a risk to you, someone else or a child or young person was at risk we would have to

sharing information if we need to do this.
The services we offer are provided by Counsellors, Primary Care Mental Health
Workers, Cognitive Behaviour Therapists, Psychologists and Nurse
Therapists.
Integrated Mental health Interventions
Primary Care Mental Health Workers are Registered Mental Health professionals who
provide assessment and a range of treatments for depression and anxiety.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is based on the idea that the way we feel is affected by our thoughts, beliefs and by
how we behave. By changing your unhelpful thoughts and behaviours you can improve the
way you feel and live your life. Our CBT therapists are able to offer longer term work for
more complex difficulties.
Counselling
Counsellors can talk through your problems with you and help you explore the way you are
feeling. Counsellors work with depression, relationship difficulties and life changes such as
divorce, bereavement or redundancy.
Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy
EMDR is used to process memories from a traumatic event such as a car accident or
situations experienced from active service in the armed forces.
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
IPT focuses on depression as a result of difficulties with another person, changes in your
role and how you feel about yourself and others. It can also be helpful for those who are
depressed as a result of grief and loss.
Military Veterans Wellbeing Group
This is a 12 week programme offering an introduction to emotional wellbeing for ex-members
of the armed forces. The group looks topics including military roles, change to civilian life,
anger, depression, anxiety and trauma.
Couples Therapy for Depression (delivered in partnership with Relate)
Counsellors can talk through with you and your partner how your relationship is affected
when one or both of you are experiencing depression. Counsellors work with you on how
you can both work together to develop your relationship
Specialised therapies for more complex problems
Psychologists and nurse therapists can work with you to undertake a details assessment
and offer a range of specialised therapies for complex problems
All our practitioners are trained mental health professionals with appropriate
professional registration
