1. Textbook Submission Deadlines (Val, Suresh, Doug, Cecelia) – The College must comply with a textbook
provision of the Higher Education Opportunity Act by July 1st. Doug distributed an outline regarding
implementation initiatives. CIA members will review the book information, and discussion will resume at
the February 25th meeting.
2. HAFA Contract Language (ADs) – Sarah and Catherine have met with representatives of adjunct faculty to
discuss contract language. They shared examples of progress made on Article VII. The group will meet again
on February 22nd.
3. Departmental Administrative Positions (Allan) – Barb Leathers made a few editorial changes to the original
advertisement. ADs should read that version of the ad and let Allan know if there are questions or
suggested changes. The ad for faculty positions has already been placed. Allan will get the figures for the
salary range and share them with ADs.
4. Long Range Instructional Space Needs (Allan) – Early plans for the College project an enrollment that is 35%
higher than current figures, before it starts to level off. Allan asked ADs to estimate how many more
classrooms and faculty might be needed in order to meet that demand.
5. CIA Meeting Summaries (Allan) – CIA meeting summaries will be located on the Z drive for viewing by all
interested employees.
6. CCB Remodeling Timelines (Allan) – Timelines are uncertain.
7. “360” Evaluations (Allan) – “360” evaluations allow for employees to critique a supervisor. Allan asked all
ADs to utilize this tool. Questions have been adjusted to make them more generally applicable to other parts of
the college. The evaluations will be distributed to IS employees in March, after spring break. Other Cabinet
members may use the evaluations if they wish.
8. Enrollment Projections for Next Year (Allan) – (See #4)
9. Tenure Recommendations (Allan) – ADs were asked to bring tenure recommendations to their next
appointment with Allan.
10. Setting Up Meeting Schedules – Allan & ADs (Allan) – Marsha will schedule individual times for ADs to
meet with Allan.
Other
1. Cornerstone (Sarah) – All Psy 101 and Soc 101 instructors completed course assessments on the same General
Education outcome this past semester. This will prove very useful in doing course-level assessment for General
Education Program outcomes.
