of any knitted project. Understanding gauge will allow

substitute alternative yarns, or change the style. Come to

Rigid Heddle Weaving
Saturdays, 9 am – 1 pm. March 23 or April 13
or May 25
YfY will now be teaching the basics of Rigid Heddle
Weaving. Using the “Cricket Rigid Heddle Loom” makes
it easy to get introduced to weaving. The loom is portable,
light-weight, is a wonderful way to begin weaving lovely
textiles featuring color and texture, and allows you to
weave items such as scarves, table runners, placemats,
purses, bags and more. These looms make great stash
busters for fiber enthusiasts! A simple scarf can be
completed in just a few evenings! In this class you will
learn to warp the loom, along with basic weaving
techniques. This is a beginner class: no weaving
experience is necessary; any one can learn this skill. We
will only be taking four students per class, so sign up
early. Waiting lists are available for every session.
Students need a rigid heddle loom for class; if you have a
loom, bring it to class. Looms are available to rent at $25
for the week; the rental fee may be applied to a loom
purchase. A week’s rent lets you experiment with
weaving. But be for-warned: it’s addictive!
Class Fee $50/4 hour; plus loom rental if needed
