Nursing Manager Cornell University Veterinary Specialists (CUVS) seeks an experienced, highly motivated, and collaborative Nursing Manager. The Nursing Manager is an integral position on the senior management team that is responsible for strategic and operational management of all aspects of nursing care in support of a team of leading specialists in critical care, internal medicine, surgery, cardiology, ophthalmology and oncology. The Nursing Manager will be focused on cultivating and motivating a high performing, highly communicative culture where clinical excellence, customer service, continuous improvement and team orientation are valued. Administrative leadership experience in a specialty clinical veterinary setting is required. Veterinary Technician Specialist credentials are very strongly preferred. CUVS (www.cuvs.org), which opened its doors in January 2011 in Stamford, CT, is a specialty and 24hour emergency hospital affiliated with Cornell University. The Nursing Manager will be responsible for training, scheduling and leading a nursing staff of over 20 technicians, assistants, and floor supervisors to assure effective and consistent case management from receiving through discharge. This position will provide for appropriate orientation, training, and in-service education for nursing staff, while overseeing and assisting with continuing education for regional LVTs. The Nursing Manager must have the ability to multi-task and juggle multiple work streams while setting/managing priorities and providing consistent follow through. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Client Services Manager, this position will help to ensure that CUVS is living up to its promise of delivering the highest level of patient-centered veterinary care, in a service-oriented medical center..
