Patron Appreciation Week
October 6-11, 2014
Monday, October 6 through Saturday, October 11 is Patron Appreciation Week at the Brownstown
Public Library. The library staff and trustees want to say “Thank You” to all their loyal patrons and
show their appreciation for the strong support from the community over the years.
Tuesday, October 7th, the library will be serving refreshments all day. Patrons are encouraged to stop
in for a sweet treat and a cup of coffee or some lemonade. Third and Fourth grade students can
participate in the After School Book Club from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. on the 7th too. Participants must
have completed a book of their choice prior to the meeting and come prepared to book talk the title.
Following the book talks, participants will have time to socialize, make recommendations for future
programs, and participate in various group activities.
Wednesday, October 8th, children 2-6 are encouraged to join us for Circle of Friends Story Time
beginning at 3:30 p.m. This thirty-minute program will include stories, songs, and a quick craft
project that preschoolers can take home with them.
Thursday, October 9th, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. meet newly published Indiana author, Maddie Gibson.
Maddie is a fourth grade student at Brownstown Elementary and she will be selling and signing copies
of her book: The Haunted House Story.
Friday, October 10th, the Adult Book Club will meet to discuss Step of Faith by Richard Paul Evans.
Adults interested in attending can pick up a copy of the book at the circulation desk. This program
begins at 11:00 a.m. and light refreshments will be served.
Every day, the library will be hosting a prize drawing to all patrons who use their library card to check
something out or to use a computer. During checkout patrons will get one chance to draw a prize
winner slip from a special drawing. Those who receive an instant winner slip will get to choose one
item from a variety of prizes. Each patron is limited to one chance per day.
