For Grades 7-9 On Thursday, Feb 19th grade 7-9 students will receive their term one report cards. Parents and students are invited to attend the February 26th parent/teacher conferences. For Grades K-6 – A “new” procedure for the February report Grade K-6 Homeroom teachers have been working with students to assemble their “learning portfolios” for the “Student Led Conferences” which are scheduled for Feb. 26th. These portfolios will include samples of work selected by students and teachers, student and teacher reflections about included work samples, student self-assessments, and a variety of test and other results. These conferences sessions are scheduled at 30 minute intervals. There may be one, two or three concurrent conferences ongoing in different sections of the classroom concurrently. Suggestions for parent involvement during the conferencing process will be provided a few days before the sessions. All K-6 students will have a Student Led Conference, but for those students who would benefit from a more traditional parent/teacher conference, teachers will contact parents to make those arrangements separately. Parents may also request such a conference at any time. During the Student Led Conference sessions, child care services will be provided in the cafeteria, for those parents who have more than one child attending K-6. We therefore request that families with more than one K-6 child please attend the conferences individually with each child. .
