2013-2014 Ottawa Centre Minor Hockey Association (OCMHA) $1,000 Graduating Midget Player Scholarship The objective of the OCMHA is for young players to have fun, improve their skills and experience hockey in a co-operative team environment. The OCMHA also promotes balancing this hockey playing experience with scholastic achievement and social responsibility/volunteer activity. To encourage these values, the OCMHA is offering one annual $1,000 scholarship to a graduating OCMHA player in their last year of midget eligibility. To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant must submit a two-page or 500 word application with the required information to the OCMHA executive by March 31, 2014. The scholarship is then awarded at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in May 2014 with the financial grant being made upon satisfactory graduation from high school and enrolment in fulltime post-secondary education the calendar year in which a scholarship is offered. Typically the award would be made to a player who has played for the OCMHA for 3+ seasons, but this is not a requirement. Please submit applications by email to Scholarship@OCMHA.ca. The OCMHA may determine, depending on financial resources, not to make the scholarship available in future years. The OCMHA Executive, in its sole discretion, may choose not to award the scholarship in this or any future year if it considers that there is not qualified candidate. The OCMHA Executive, in its sole discretion, may choose to award multiple scholarships of any approved value in this or any future year if it considers that there are more than one qualified candidates, or additional funds are available. The OCMHA Executive may, in its sole discretion, revoke an awarded scholarship at any time prior to making payment, in the event that following announcement of the award, the designated recipient conducts him or herself contrary to the values of the OCMHA or the spirit of the Graduating Midget Scholarship.
