The January meeting of the SDMC was held on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 3:30pm. Members present included:

The meeting was called to order by Assistant Principal Olivia Casares. Business discussed:
READING SPECIALIST
 Position as Reading Specialist for the 2013-2014 school year is being considered. Do we want to promote from
within or hire an outside reading specialist?
BUDGET
 Suggestion to use budget monies to fund additional summer school teachers
 If opposed, other suggestions?
RESOURCES
 $150k spent on resources this school year
 Before requesting additional resources (only 2 months left before testing!), are you using the materials you
already have?
 Are you effectively utilizing your available materials? Next school year attention will be given to the
effectiveness of budget resource purchases in relation to test results.
