Dear Friends and Family: If you knew how to help a family deal with the life-long challenges that come with caring for a catastrophically wounded, injured, or ill Soldier, Marine, Sailor, Coast Guardsman, or Airman, would you? Most of us would jump at the opportunity to show our appreciation to these military families – we just don’t know where the needs are or how to address those needs. Worse yet, we don’t know which organizations to trust with our hard earned donations and limited volunteer time. I just learned about the Quality of Life Foundation, a non-profit organization that spent a year to research the challenges these families face; they know where the needs are and how to address them. The needs are greatest when the injured service member returns to community living and becomes fully dependent on a family caregiver. The reality for many care giving families is that they become financially strapped, isolated and overwhelmed. The Quality of Life Foundation has developed a program to address these post-transition challenges through engaging, equipping, and training community members to help. These veterans and their families have given their full measure for our country and now face life-long financial, emotional, and logistical challenges related to devastating injury. Please visit the Quality of Life Foundation’s website at WWW.QOLFOUNDATION.ORG to learn more about the many ways you can get involved and show your appreciation for these veteran families whose lives have been forever changed in service to our country. Sincerely,
