Locals Featured in Buckeye Alumni Magazine Chillicothe, Ohio - June 1, 2015 – Ohio State students from Ross County are featured in the current issue of the alumni magazine. Eleven scholarship recipients are pictured with Dr. Bill Schuller, scholarship chairman for the OSU Alumni Club of Ross County. The article in the May-June issue of the Ohio State Alumni magazine chronicles the 24 year history of scholarships awarded by Ross County alumni. In that time the group has awarded 170 scholarships totaling over $100,000 from the Bob and Betty Jones Scholarship fund. Sustaining members of the Ohio State University Alumni Association can designate this fund when making an annual contribution. The fund number is 606194. A donation from the late Bob and Betty Jones, life long Ohio State supporters, endowed the fund in 1996. Each year the Ross County alumni club raises money for scholarships by raffling off a pair of season tickets to Ohio State home games. Fans can buy a raffle ticket from any club member. Members can be found on the Ohio State University Alumni Club of Ross County Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/40807665185/). Only 300 tickets are sold. In addition to season tickets, several single-game pairs will also be raffled as consolation prizes. The drawing will be held on August 20th. The Ohio State Alumni magazine is published by the Ohio State University Alumni Association and distributed to over 100,000 members. The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Ross County is open to anyone, not just Ohio State graduates. The purpose of the organization is the Bob and Betty Jones Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to Ross County students bound for the Ohio State. Alumni club members regularly judge at school science fairs and the group tends to State Route 104 as part of the Adopt a Highway program. The group also conducts several social activities throughout the year and will be ushering at Tecumseh! this July.
