In 100 words or less, describe how you share the core values of UIW’s Mission (Service, Faith, Innovation,
Truth and Education).
Our core values at the University of the Incarnate Word remind me so much of my personal values. My family
has always taught me to never lose faith in God or myself. I believe that it is so important to always stay true to
myself and stand strong for what I believe in. Reaching for the stars and always looking for new ideas are what
help me to accomplish my goals. There are many amazing people in our world who gave their life to serving
others, they are a reminder to me to provide service to my church and community by giving up my time. Last
but not least, I am always in pursuit of my greater education, it is the greatest gift I could ever have.
In 100 words or less, list what groups, organizations and/or religious communities at UIW you have been
involved with and how.
I have always liked to be extremely involved on campus. I feel like my campus involvement is the reason why I
am able to connect more with my professors and my peers. I am extremely involved in my sorority Alpha
Sigma Alpha, where I have held the position of Sisterhood chairman and currently the Standards chairman. I am
also helping our organization to raise money for the Special Olympics through a fundraiser. For the past two
years I have been blessed with working with the Emerging Leaders class. I have had the opportunity to be a
peer mentor and help incoming freshmen enhance their leadership abilities. To enhance my Cardinal pride even
more, I am a cheerleader for the university. As a cheerleader, I am able to raise our school spirit and promote
school pride! GO CARDS GO!! My most recent organization goal just came true, I have just been accepted into
the Ambassador Organization. I love my school and I feel so blessed that I will be able to promote our
university. Our university has so much to offer and I can’t wait to share my positive experiences with others.
In 100 words or less, how have you served the campus community?
The minute I started my college career at The University of the Incarnate Word, I quickly emerged myself into
all that the university had to offer. Being a member of the UIW cheer squad has helped me to promote school
spirit! When I was accepted into my sorority Alpha Sigma Alpha, I immediately had the opportunity to serve
others by volunteering at our national philanthropy, the Special Olympics. I have been blessed with the
opportunity to be involved with Golden Harvest, it is something that I always look forward to. I have also had
the amazing opportunity to serve incoming freshmen in the Emerging Leaders class as well as being an
ambassador where I can promote our wonderful university.

In 100 words or less, how have you served your local community?
Being Miss Texas Beauties of America 2009 has not only given me the opportunity to be a representative of our
city, but also a representative of our state. I have been very fortunate to have been able to participate in some
amazing service opportunities. I have been able to speak about and raise awareness about the importance of
being physically fit and raise the issue of how important Diabetes awareness is. I have volunteered at The
Animal Defense League and have helped promote the importance of spaying and neutering our pets. I have been
blessed with working alongside Hope Hospice as well. The highlight of my service to our community has been
speaking to local middle school students about the importance of staying in school. None of my experiences
would be possible without God in my life. Everyday I thank him for the blessings he has given me. I am
extremely involved in my church where I serve as a Sunday School teacher and a Young Adult coordinator for
our Teen ACTS program at St. John Berchman’s.
In 100 words or less, what are your goals and vision for your future?
My number one goal at this moment is to become UIW’s innagural homecoming queen for 2009! My goals for
the future include graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and then continuing my
education with a Master’s and Doctrine Degree in Administration, all degrees from The University of the
Incarnate Word. In pursuing my goal, I envision myself one day running a school district as a superintendent.
In 100 words or less, what awards/recognitions have you received?
Pageantry has been a very big part of my life and I feel like it has helped me to become a well-rounded young
woman. I have had the opportunity to hold many titles, including a state title and for that I am truly blessed. I
am the former Miss New Braunfels Teen USA 2006, Miss New Braunfels USA 2007 and Miss San Antonio
Beauties of America 2008. One of the best blessings I have received is my current title, Miss Texas Beaties of
America 2009. It is not the crown and sash that is important, but what I have been able to achieve during my
reign.
In cheerleading I have been very fortunate to receive awards for most improved individual and most positive
attitude. 
