Bainbridge Island Rowing Scholarship Guidelines Purpose: To provide financial assistance to those in need who want to participate in BIR programs and regattas Scholarships are offered to those who have a financial need that would otherwise prevent them from participation Junior Program scholarship amounts are o ____25% ___ _50% ____75% Masters Program scholarship amounts are o ____25% ____50% ____75% Cost of uniforms and travel expenses are not covered by scholarship monies All applicants for scholarships will be judged independently No reason for recommendation for scholarship will be shared. Helpline House will confidentially review all requests and recommendations will be forwarded to the BIR Treasurer. Helpline House will help BIR by prioritizing applicants based on degree of need, highest to lowest Applicants must apply for scholarships for each season in which they seek financial assistance. Helpline House only needs to qualify applicants one time in a calendar year. If approved, the applicant’s following season request is made directly to the BIR Treasurer for budget review. Scholarships will be granted based on budget and need. Budget: BIR will establish a budget for each season. Applications will be considered on the amount of money budgeted. BIR Rowing Fees: Junior program fees – Membership fee $50.00 Spring Rowing Season Regatta Fees separate Fall Rowing Fees incl.
