1. The minutes of the last meeting were unanimously accepted as an accurate
account. They were proposed by T. O’Reilly and seconded by the chair.
2. Open Day. P. Corrigan gave a progress report on the Open Day. He has ordered
two banners and two and a half thousand leaflets to be distributed around the town
and in local schools. He talked to the Council about use of the courts on a Saturday,
they can’t see any problems. We could facilitate any members of the public by
inviting them to participate free of charge at the Open Day. Patrick informed the
committee that the Council had contributed £200 towards the Open Day. This he
stated would go along way in covering the costs of the day. The chair thanked the
Council. Patrick talked about discounted membership fees for people who came to the
Open Day and wanted to join the club. After a long discussion it was decided to
charge new members, for one week after the Open Day the following rates.
Seniors £40.
Students £20.
Families £80.
This was proposed by the chair and seconded by the secretary. It was carried
unanimously.
The secretary stated that he would contact Sam Clegg and Jane McIlwrath to see if
they were available. The secretary also stated that he would contact senior members
to see if they would be available to help out on Open Day. Names would be e-mailed
to the P.R.O.
3. Internal leagues. Unfortunately Rachel was in Ballycastle with a junior team so
Patrick outlined the structure of the ladder and distributed a very informative
handout on procedures. Patrick stated that he needed the passwords for facebook
and the club website. Paul Canavan said he would sort that out. All members to be
contacted as regards the ladder by e-mail, facebook, the club website and word of
mouth.
4. Climbing paint. The secretary stated that there was a problem with people climbing
over the gates and playing football on the courts. A local painter Robert Brennan has
quoted a price of around £100 to paint the tops of the gates and corners of courts with
anti-climbing paint. The committee agreed to go ahead with the painting. Passed
unanimously.
