The ARTS at CCHS Parent’s Association
By-Laws
Article I- Name
The name of this organization shall be the ARTS at CCHS Parent’s Association, in the Diocese of
Camden, New Jersey. This organization shall also be referred to as the ARTS at CCHS Parent’s
Association. This new organization was established on nnn, xx, 2008.
Article II- Mission
The mission of the ARTS at CCHS Parent’s Association is to promote and sustain
communications and involvement within the CCHS community and support CCHS parents, teachers,
students, and alumni.
Article III- Objectives
The ARTS at CCHS Parent’s Association shall be guided by the principles of the Catholic Church
and shall be committed to Christian ideals and practices in this organization. The objectives of the ARTS at
CCHS Parent’s Association shall be in accordance with the policies and educational goals of Camden
Catholic High School.
The objectives of the ARTS at CCHS Parent’s Association:
1. To establish communication and involvement with and between parents, teachers,
school administration, students, and alumni and act as a forum for active exchange of
ideas and suggestions.
2. To sponsor activities and programs that enhance the quality of life at CCHS, foster
pride in being associated with the school, and demonstrate support of our teachers.
3. To promote the ideals of a Christ-centered learning environment and the spiritual and
academic development of students.
4. To include the Board of Trustees in any communications to foster good relationships
with the leadership of CCHS.
Article IV- Officers

The elected officers shall be President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
The President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer shall be elected at the annual election
meeting, which shall be the final General meeting of the school year.
All elected officers shall be members who have children attending CCHS during their term in
office.
The term of office shall be one year only and shall run from July1 through June 30 of the
succeeding year. All officers may be elected to no more than two consecutive terms and
exceptions may be made with the approval of the general membership.
All officers must by members in good standing.
Article V- Executive Board
The Executive Board shall carry out the objectives and policies of the ARTS at CCHS Parent’s
Association and propose new objectives when necessary. The Executive Board shall consist of the officers,
President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer and at large members; the CCHS principal, CCHS
Faculty representative, Board of Trustee Representative, Development Director, and the Chairpersons of
the Standing Committees
Article VI- Duties of Executive Board Members
The ARTS at CCHS Parent’s Association Officers include the positions of President, VicePresident, Secretary, and Treasurer. The others at large CCHS Executive Board Member positions include
the CCHS principal, CCHS Faculty representative, Board of Trustee Representative, Development
Director, and the Chairpersons of the Standing Committees. All Executive Board Members are expected to
attend all Executive Board and General meetings and attend as many ARTS at CCHS Parent’s Association
events as possible.
Sec. 1 The President shall:
1. Provide leadership for the ARTS at CCHS Parent’s Association and coordinate the work of all
board members and committees to progress the organization’s objectives and goals,
aggressively promote the Association’s agenda, and further its reputation and standing within
the CCHS community.
2. Meet at the beginning of their term with the Principal to establish common goals and
objectives for the coming year.
3. Preside at all meetings of the Executive Board and the general membership.
4. Establish the agenda at all Executive Board meetings
5. Appoint chairpersons of committees with the approval of the Executive Board
6. Have authority to sign checks for the CCHS Parents’ Association in addition to the Treasurer.
7. Authorize emergency expenditures not in excess of $200 for any given emergency
8. Recommend a Chairperson of the Nominating Committee for approval by the Executive
Board.
9. Fill vacancies on the Executive Board between annual election meetings with the approval of
the Executive Board
10. Be an ex-officio member of all committees except the Nominating Committee.
11. Review all ARTS at CCHS Parent’s Association before distribution by the Executive Board
or committees.
12. Serve as the ARTS at CCHS Parent’s Association liaison with other school organizations as
well as represent CCHS as requested by the Principal.
Sec.2 The Vice President shall:

Be responsible for overall membership recruiting to encourage active participation by CCHS
parents, teachers, and administration in the ARTS at CCHS Parent’s Association.
Direct the coordination of volunteers needed to staff CCHS programs and events that require
the time and talents of members and others in the school community.
Act as consultant to any Special committee created by the Executive Board to address specific
issues brought forth by the general membership during the school year.
Investigate new fundraising ideas consistent with the fundraising goals of the Board.
Investigate new class events consistent with the goals of the Board.
The Vice-President in the absence of the President shall perform all duties of the President
and assume the duties of the office until the new annual election if the office of the President
becomes vacant.
Sec.3 The Secretary shall:

Keep the minutes of all meetings of the ARTS at CCHS Parent’s Association and the
Executive Board; facilitate the approval of the meeting minutes, and subsequent distribution
of approved minutes as directed by the Executive Board.
Maintain a current copy of the Constitution and By-Laws available for use at all meetings
Handle correspondence of the organization including email review and reply, as well as
ARTS at CCHS Parent’s Association mailings to the CCHS community
Post the agenda for all meetings.
Sec.4 The Treasurer shall:

Maintain custody of all funds of the ARTS at CCHS Parent’s Association.
Provide for the timely deposit of funds in the name of the organizations.
Keep a full an accurate account of all contributions, and other receipts to the fund, and track
all spending.
Provide a bank statement monthly to the Principal.
Present financial reports at General meetings during the school year that includes year-to-date
expenditures and performance to budget.
Prepare a full financial report at the annual election meeting.
Prepare a proposed budget for the next school year for approval by the new Executive Board.
Submit documentation of accounts for annual audit examination.
