RE: COLLECTION SECURITY PROCEDURE
9:00 a.m. & 11:00 a.m. Service
• Count all adults and all children separately and write the numbers and the date on a
piece of paper. • Keep the collections in your possession during the service.
• At the end of the service take the collection plates/baskets to the outer office area.
• It is important to keep the two collections separate.
• Obtain two manilla envelopes and two "counting sheets" (located on the counter in the
southwest corner
of the outer office).
• On one counting sheet write "Open Plate" and place this sheet, the regular plates
collection (from both plates) and the attendance slip into the first manilla envelope.
• On the second counting sheet write "Starfish" and place this sheet and the baskets
collection (from both
baskets) into a second manilla envelope.
• Place both envelopes in the safe (located on the lower shelf of the cupboard in the
southwest corner of th
outer office). See two services instructions below.
• Place one attendance count sheet in each now empty regular collection plate and return
all plates and baskets to the vestibule ready for the next collection.
9:00 a.m. Service
.Open the safe door by turning the key being careful not to touch the numbered dial.
Place both envelopes in the safe. Close the safe door and turn the key, but DO NOT
TOUCH OR SPIN THE COMBINATION LOCK as the second service collections must
also be placed in this safe before it is locked. Close the door to the cupboard.
11:00 a.m. Service
Open the safe door by turning the key being careful not to touch the numbered dial. Place
both envelopes in the safe. Close the safe door and SPIN THE COMBINATIONLOCK to
lock the safe. Close the door to the cupboard.
NOTE: If you find the safe locked please find someone (usually an officer or the
minister) that has a key to the locked office and leave the envelopes in the locked office.
