MINUTES FOR May 28, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 12:06 pm and the following items were presented, discussed

The April 2008 minutes were voted on and approved.
Treasurer’s Report
The Treasurer’s Report was voted on and approved. Due to an excellent flower sale the treasury is
in good shape with a balance of $3808.64. The donation to the book fund has been made as has
payment for the PSSA scholarship recipient. Multiple deposits noted on this month’s report reflect
the Flower sale proceeds.

All committee chairs have done an exemplary job this year. Please give your appreciation to the
different committee chairs. Membership is up to 75% of PSS in no small measure due to Mildred
Kelley. The Flower sale was once again led by our team of Julie Stearman, Jamie Jenkins and
Sarah Graifemberg and Mildred Kelley. Julie Hanson did a great with the PSSA scholarship
committee and Stephanie Sarles continues to provide dedicated leadership of the Employee of the
Month committee. Our appreciation also goes to Deborah Whaley-Stephenson and her committee
for several successful fundraising projects this year. Remember that each of you has the
opportunity to help your association and there are still open positions on committees.
Relationships
The relationship with different groups on campus continues to grow and improve the ability of the
PSSA to move forward with specific proposals. The relationship between the PSSA and Faculty
Association is one example where there has been a strengthened relationship between the two
groups over the past two years.
Upcoming Plans
Over the next two years, the PSSA hopes to look for ideas and projects to bring forward to benefit
PSS and the community at large. Please be thinking about projects or ideas you would like to see
developed by PSSA. You are encouraged to share those ideas at any time with Bob Smith.
Elections
A question was raised by a member about how many of the members present received the email
regarding the elections. By show of hands the majority present had received the email.
Selection of officers for the next two years occurred through email voting and in person ballots
cast. For the next two years the following individuals were selected as officers:
President, Bob Smith
Vice President, Brad Thomas
Recording Secretary, Erin Lewis
Treasurer, Steve Hughes
Congratulations to our new officers and appreciation to those who have served over the past two
years!
