NEWSLETTER - JANUARY 2012
All the best to all of you and to all involved with Colyton Library.
There is a second attachment which is a letter to everyone from Helen. The library was
packed for her send off on December 31st and we wish her all the very best for the future.
Refurbishment
Dates of closure for the refurbishment are now fixed and the library will be closed from
6.00 pm on Thursday, February 16 and reopening on Tuesday, March 13.
There will be an official reopening ceremony on the morning of Tuesday, March 13,
more details next time. The library will reopen for business at 2.30pm that day.
Arrangements will be made for renewing books to cover the closure period. Tuesday
Coffee mornings with the ability to take out and return books aided by volunteers and
using the self-service machine will start on Tuesday, March 20.
An appointment has just been made for Colyton Library. This is very good news and
again more information will follow.
Volunteers.
Those who have volunteered either for helping on the Tuesday morning coffee morning
with a limited library service and those who have volunteered to help with the children
will need to fill in an expression of interest form for Devon Library Service. (DLS) These
people should have received contact from us explaining the system. If you have not

Those who have offered to help with the tagging of books in preparation for the self
service machine have been contacted but do not have to fill in an expression of interest
form – this is for people having direct contact with the public or representing DLS.
We have one volunteer to take joint care of the planting and maintenance of the large
planter that has been donated to go into the old doorway, if anybody else is interested
please contact Jane Dauncey.
Membership renewals are due – please either leave your money at the Library in an
envelope addressed to Jenny Fielding, the membership secretary or pay at the AGM.
Diary Dates
 AGM 2012 - The date for this is Thursday, March 8 at 7.00pm, in the Methodist
Hall. As usual there will be entertainment as well as doing the business required.
 February coffee morning -Thursday, February 2, 10.30am – 12midday in the
library.
