MINUTES OF COMMITTEE MTG, WEDNESDAY 6.8.14.

Minutes of Last mtg.
a)Fundraising Group – no response to matt’s email asking for
volunteer fundraisers. He did experience posting difficulties with
some ‘bounce-backs’ of emails. Request that email addresses be
checked with joining forms.
b)Street Reps Mtg – still pending, re-arrange for September.
c)Official CRA badges – sorted. JB issue for delivery of n’letters.
d)Membership of Ardgowan Rd – to be made official at Open Mtg.
e)Donation to Glenfarg Church. JB sort with Russell - £50? How?
Agenda - Elisabeth Blanchet to spk about Prefab Museum;
Neighbourhood Forum advisor to spk about N.Forum/Plan.

Teachsport Up-date.
Matt to pick up with Mekor. Discuss fundraising with Teachsport.

The field on Abbotshall Rd is now being re-surfaced. It would be
good to have a time-table of works, know when we can use
pavilion, put this up on notice board. JB to liaise with Peter.
Events Up-date.
Agreement that the Summer Festival cannot go ahead this year
and it is too late to arrange an alternative, eg, Street Party.
Arrangements for next yr to be discussed at next mtg. A street
party on Abbotshall/Merchiston, using pavilion?
Christmas Mkt. Strts’n’Env Grp have started arrangements. To
be discussed, 27.8, Uptown, next mtg. Volunteers needed. BG has
set up email address, JB to post on fb. Singers, players, musicians
wanted – any contacts – please inform Strts’n’Env Grp.
Walking Dinner. Sue and Flavia to plan.To take place November.

Jane and Liam have worked really hard here. Some technical
problems – now resolved. ACS have asked to include text – and
will pay all costs. To be distributed to whole Estate. Julia, Flavia,
Natasha, Jane, Bernie, Theo to sort for delivery, using CRA
street reps/volunteers & ACS volunteers, 16.9.

Local Vulnerable Old People Project.
Barbara and ACS are working with Lewisham (Trevor Pybus) who
already are working on this but seem unaware that we have a
problem on the Corbett Estate. BG to up-date next mtg.

Barbara reported on progress of Neighbourhood Forum & Plan.
(ACS) We have been awarded £7,000 plus an advisor for the
project. She & Peter to meet with Planning, 27.8. 120 responses
to Survey Monkey. 50 have asked to go on Forum – we need 21.
The N.Plan will be a legal document and give us control over
planning issues on the Estate and enable us to retain the original
character and architectural features.
Barbara also reported on the Afro-Caribbean Health Project
progress. Another award of £7,000. CRA, ACS, WRRA, HGrCA all
working together on problems typical to this community. Torridon
Rd Dr’s Practice on board.
Book Club. Jane has emailed all wannabe new members. Some
have responded. 2nd group to be set up as soon as nos. high
enough. This will be posted on fb, notice board.
Sandhurst Parade Improvements. Barbara has spoken to
Transport who are waiting for money from TFL. Money and works
to be delivered in 2 tranches, 2015 & 16. New paving, restricted
parking bays, traffic calming, tree planting, Art Project all
planned. Shops have been consulted with, on board for this yr’s
Xmas Mkt. Jeanette to bid – CSWAss.
Catford South Ward Assembly Funding bids to be in, 17.9.
Decision made to purchase de-icing salt with last yr’s money,
ready for this yr. Discuss next mtg.
Concerns re road safety brought up by Natasha. Recently a very
serious accident on Brownhill Rd. + 2 others. Traffic lights not at
all user-friendly on junction of Brownhill and Torridon Rds. The
Zebra Crossing on Brownhill is hazardous. Decision to organise a
CRA campaign. Natasha to draft letter, Mekor to write to
Transport, Lewisham. Need to get ACS, WRRA, HGrCA on board.
Bernie – Fly Tipping issue: Bernie attended a ‘Downham Summit’
at Phoenix, Green Man, Bromley Rd. Heidi Alexander there.
Phoenix have wardens who patrol – Bernie spoke to Nigel Tyrell,
Hd of Cleansing who said there is no money for this in Lewisham.
There is a need for the public to continually report Fly Tipping,
with witness statements/all details. Freedom of Information Act
– we have a right to know where the money is going. Jeanette is
setting up regular meetings with Alan Smith & Strts’n’Env Grp on
such issues. First mtg – 10.9.
ASB – Noise Pollution. There has been much fb activity on this
issue. Public to be advised to report to ‘Noise Patrol’.
Decision to bring up at next SNT mtg.
