Guidelines on Environmental Management in Industrial Estates
Foreword
Central Pollution Control Board focussed the attention of the promoters of
Industrial Estates in the country on the pollution problems of the Estates
through a symposium held at Jaipur, Rajastha,l during December 27-28.
1979. The symposium recommended a set of principles in order1o improve
the environmental conditions inexjsting industrial estates and for planning
of new industrial estates. Since then many attempts have been made to
control pollution caused by industrial estates. The experience out of these
attempts pointed to the need for development o~ comprehensive guidelines
for
the
waste
management
in
industrial
estates.
This report is an attempt in this direction. The present publication, I hope,
will meet the the need. The inputs from Dr. G. Werner and Mr. H. KraIt,
ConslJltants from Federal Republic of Germany in the formulation of the
guidelines are gratefully acknowledged
