The discharge consent represents best environmental option for overall protection of the estuary – no
other specific conservation objectives have been set..

4. Current information
4.1 Monitoring/research (Are you undertaking any current monitoring/research of the activity?)
Monitoring of waste discharged – continuous for flow, weekly for chemical composition. This
monitoring is not done at the discharge point but is done within the water treatment works site which
is approximately 600m (Purton) and 2km (Littleton) from the estuary.
4.2 Why is it carried out?
To monitor compliance with terms of discharge consent 101501 and S/20/25753/T
