LSA Undergraduate Student Services Reference Manual Chapter 1 Degree Audit and Senior Audit Degree Audit The M-Pathways degree audit is more than just a degree clearance tool. The Degree Audit Report is designed to inform students and advisors if requirements for a degree have been met, or which requirements need to be completed. The goal of this report is to provide more efficient, consistent and timely services to our undergraduate students provide real-time, complete and accurate degree progress information to our advisors allow students to conduct their own degree progress reports, as well as explore “whatif” scenarios The LSA On-Line Student File provides a convenient means of communicating any exceptions that you grant. Staff from the LSA Academic Auditors Office enter those exceptions to the students’ records every day and the entries are immediately reflected on their degree audit reports. The Degree Audit report is available to staff upon completion of the e-learning course AAE 101 (formerly AVE 101) – Introduction to the Degree Audit Report. The report is available to advisors via Teaching Support upon completion of the e-learning course DCE 101 or DCF 101 – Access & Compliance. The report will be available to students via Student Business on Wolverine Access as of 6/28/06. Please refer to the document “How to read a Degree Audit Report” found in LUGS CTools Resources. Senior Audit Mainstream LSA Students Before a student applies to graduate, they should first meet with a concentration advisor to fill out a Concentration Release form. The Concentration Release form is then turned into the LSA Academic Auditors office at 1228 Angell Hall. The meeting with the concentration advisor is to discuss the progress in the concentration, confirm what concentration requirements still must be met, suggest the pacing that might best accomplish this, and fill out the Concentration Release Form. If students have a double concentration, they need to hand in a Concentration Release Form from both departments. At this time, the concentration advisor should remind the student that they must also meet with a general advisor to confirm progress with the general requirements. Particularly the student should be reminded that they need a minimum of 120 credit hours to graduate. After a student has met with their advisors, they can apply to graduate on-line via Wolverine Access. The Academic Auditors review the records of all students who have applied to gradaute and have submitted a Concentration Release Form. They send an audit statement to these students in the form of a letter, confirming exactly which requirements they need to meet before they can graduate. Honors Students Students with an honors concentration submit Honors Concentration Release Form to the Honors Office, 1228 Angell Hall. Residential College Students Students in the Residential College submit Concentration Release Form to the RC Advising Office, 138 Tyler, East Quad.
