Information about KKU-CQU PhD Program Through friendly negotiation between KKU in Korea and CQU in China, KKU agrees to award full waive of tuition to 4-5 distinguished postgraduates of CQU who are to do PhD programs at KKU in the fall semester of 2008.These students must meet relevant admission requirements and be admitted by the relevant professors. Of course, the admitted students may have other chances for additional scholarships or financial supports. I. Application process: CQU students must be recommended by CQU international office and relevant professors. The recommended applicants must submit the following materials to Mr. Kwak at woosoon@konkuk.ac.kr, by Feb. 15th , 2008. Then the graduate school will notify the admission decision and the awarded financial aid package by March 15, 2008. During that period, there will be phone interviews to be made by relevant professors of KKU. Therefore, the applicant shall write down their phone numbers and time available for the phone interview on the application form. The admitted applicants will be required to provide additional documents which are requested by the Korean Government for the entry visa. II. Materials required: (1) Students (applicants) resume (2) University official transcripts (English translated) (3) An application essay (4) A study and research plan (5) English or Korean language Certificate (Toefl, Toeic and/or Topik) (6) Documents proving research-related experience (7) Two recommendation letters, one from a CQU faculty, the other from an administrator of International Office of CQU. III. Information on scholarships for international graduate students. KKU basically give 50% tuition waive to all enrolled international students. And most of the students in natural science and in engineering fields are receiving more than 100% scholarship. There are 20 Chinese students in natural science and in engineering fields. The average scholarship amount they receive is approximately 135% of tuition fee. It cover 100% tuition fee and part of dormitory fee and stipend.
