WILO SE supports Dresden students
A Wilo pump for the new "Industrial
flow control" test station
Dresden/Dortmund. The Dortmund-based pump expert Wilo has
donated an IP-E 32/160-1,1/2 type pump for the new "Industrial
flow control" test station, which went into operation in July 2014,
to the Dresden University of Applied Sciences.
WILO SE and the Dresden University of Applied Sciences have a
long-standing partnership, and the Dortmund-based company is
happy to be able to support the students in the completion of
their projects. Professor Dr. Ing. Mario Reichel expressed his
heartfelt thanks to Alf Bauer, Wilo Sales Manager East, for supporting research and teaching at the HTW Dresden.
The attractive new research equipment is located in the laboratory for automation technology in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. The design, dimensioning and realisation of the test station
was a joint effort between the Faculty of Electrical Engineering
and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering/Process Technology
and will be used by both faculties. The installation and commissioning of the test station was done by the students as part of
their project and Diploma thesis work.
Important application areas for automation technology are facilities for chemical process technology and building and energy
technology. The research equipment will be used exclusively for
practicum work by students in the automation technology program and the subject area technical building equipment. It is intended to acquaint students with the properties of hydraulic
plants and their effects on control systems under real-life conditions.
