Entry Form for the Annual Primary Waste Water Treatment Competition Your team is invited to compete in the Annual Primary Waste Water Treatment Competition. You will be given a quantity of Teacher’s Waste Water which may contain some or all of the following elements: potting soil, plastic, leaves, raisins, oatmeal, tea, coffee and/or other organic material. The waste water used will not contain any filthy-bacteria-laden materials. Your team will have time to design, purchase the parts, and construct a primary waste water treatment device (PWWTD). However, ready or not, the competition will begin at the designated time of when everyone will receive 200 ml of the Teacher’s Waste Water. Hint: the teams that scored highest in previous competitions constructed a prototype. They tested the prototype with the wastewater and then built another treatment device with modifications. Keep in mind that they had to pay for all materials. The competition will be scored on the following criteria: design and cost of the device, clarity and color of water, and rate of purification. See the rubric below. INSTRUCTIONS: Design and draw your Primary Waste Water Treatment Device in the space below.
