For this project you will create your very own Geometric Town using the poster board I give you. Follow all the instruction below. All of your streets, buildings, and other things you add must be creatively named and relate to geometry (like Parallelogram Police Station, or
Octagonal Office building).
When you create and name your buildings, be sure to include all the things a real town would need before you add extras. For example, everyone will probably have a fire station, a hospital, and a police station, since every community needs these things to survive. You many include extra buildings, but only after you have all the essential buildings drawn and labeled first.
Here are the shapes and lines you MUST include. You may include more building, but this is the minimum that every town must have before the extras are added. Your grade will be based on how well you follow the instructions below, how creatively you name your buildings and streets, and how neat you final presentation is.
Your town must include:
__ A creative name at the top
__ Three streets which are parallel to each other and outlines in red.
__ Two streets that intersect the parallel streets to form perpendicular lines and
outlined in green.
__ One street that intersects another street, but does not form perpendicular
lines, and is outlined in purple.
__ Buildings – label each building with a creative name that includes the name of
the shape you are drawing.
__ 1 rhombus building
__ 1 square building
__ 1 rectangular building
__ 1 parallelogram building
__ 1 trapezoid building
__ 1 octagonal building
__ 1 hexagonal building
__ 1 pentagonal building
__ A park (The park will contain: label each object in the park with a creative name that
includes the name of the shape you are drawing.)
__ 3 sandboxes, all colored light brown
__ acute triangle __ obtuse triangle __ right triangle
__ Three pools, all colored light blue
__ 1 scalene triangle __ isosceles triangle __ equilateral triangle
