KABK Tuition fees 2012-2013 The Board of Governors has recently determined the rates for lecture and tuition fees for the academic year 2012-2013. The amount of the tuition fees depends on conditions including the nationality of the student, his study history in Dutch Higher Education, place of residence and form of enrollment. Statutory (legally set) tuition fee (basic tariff / increased tariff) The statutory tuition fee basic tariff for full-time study programmes has been fixed by the Ministry at € 1,771 (ft). For part-time courses at our University the rate is € 1,600 (pt). The statutory tuition fee basic tariff applies only to students who meet the residence requirement1, who do not have a Dutch bachelor or master degree2, who do not have an extended study duration (langstudeerder)3 in Dutch higher education and who have an EEA nationality (EEA4 is incl. NL), or the Swiss or Surinam nationality, and for the limited category of non-EEA students who have the right to financial assistance in the form of a Dutch study grant. The statutory tuition fee increased tariff applies for students, who have an extended study duration (langstudeerder)3 in Dutch higher education. This fee for full-time study programmes has been fixed by the Ministry at € 4,834 (ft). For part-time courses at our University the rate is € 4,663 (pt). Institutional tuition fee The fees for students from outside the EEA and for students from The Netherlands or another EEA country who do not comply with the residency requirements, or who already have a Dutch bachelor or master degree, are set by the Board of Governors. For 2012-2013 the fee is € 4,500 (full-time) and € 3,500 (part-time). Transitional arrangement There is a transitional arrangement for EEA students who were enrolled in our University before 1st September 2010 having at that moment a Dutch bachelor or master degree, and for the non-EEA students who enrolled before 1st September 2008. These students will receive a personal letter about their tuition fee. The definition ‘Dutch bachelor or master degree’ is applicable to: - Bachelor students from the EEA, who have obtained a Bachelor or Master degree after August 1991 at a Dutch college or university, and who apply for a Bachelor course at our University; - Master students from the EEA, who have obtained a Master degree after August 1991 at a Dutch college or university and who apply for a Master course at our University. 2 The definition ‘langstudeerder’ is applicable to: - EEA students without a degree, who have used their nominal study duration + 1 of a four-year Bachelor course or a one/two-year master course in Dutch higher education. 3 The European Economic Area (EEA) consists of all member states of the European Union, plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. The following countries belong to the EEA: Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Rumania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Sweden.
