CONDUCT OF JNVST CLASS – XI NVS has decided admission of students against available vacancies at the level of Class –XI on the basis of marks secured by students in class – X Board Examination while giving admission to the students, following points will be kept in view: A) B) C) D) E) F) G) A student who has appeared in Board Examination in Class – X from CBSE, or from any State Board is not required to undergo any entrance test for his/her admission to Class – XI. The NVS may admit the students in class-XI on the basis of the marks obtained by them in class –X CBSE Board/any other state board. The students will be admitted on merit basis against vacant seats. The selected students will be informed by the principal of the concerned JNV by registered post. Candidates are required to enclose photocopies (duly attested by the head of the institution last attended) in support of their qualification, caste etc. The Principal of the concerned JNV will verify these information furnished by the candidates from original certificates at the time of admission. The admission in class-XI will be completed latest by 15th july,2005 and the principals, immediately thereafter, will submit the status report to the concerned regional office/Hqrs. The newly admitted students have to undergo medical checkup by the Vidyalaya doctor. Students suffering from infectious disease/serious ailments shall not be admitted. Ten days orientation programme will be arranged for newly admitted students to bridge the learning gaps and to adapt them for new environment. SCHEME OF STUDIES Streams available in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya will be allotted to students per the following criteria: A. Science with Mathematics I. II. III. IV. B. Aggregate marks in class X : 45% Science: A minimum of 50% marks Mathematics : A minimum of 45% marks Science and mathematics put together: A minimum of 100 marks Science without Mathematics I. II. Aggregate in class X : 45% Science : A minimum of 50% as C. Commerce, Humanities and Vocational Streams There is no restriction of marks in offering these streams. However, if mathematics has to be offered as a paper under these streams, then a minimum of 45% of marks in the mathematics is compulsory. Relaxation of marks for admission to science / commerce streams in Class-XI If may be ensured that weightage IS GIVEN TO THE ELIGIBLE Sports/NCC/Scouts Guides students for admission to various streams in Class – XI in accordance with the following norms: Games Sports & NCC Participation at SGFI equivalent level ‘A’ Certificate and participation in Republic Day Parade Scouting & Adventure Guiding President’s Nil Budge Holder with 6 proficiency Badges/ P.M. Rally Participation ‘A’ Certificate 1 class with Nil at National & best Cadet 7 proficiency State Level in Distt. State Badges level Camp Exhibition Relaxation of marks for admission to Science/ Commerce Stream 7 Marks Participation in National Level Exhibitions organized by NCERT Participation 6 Marks in National Level Exhibitions organized by NVS Participation ‘A’ Certificate 1 class Participation Participation 2 Marks at regional Scout/ Guide in at least in National Level one, 10 days level adventure Exhibitions activity organized by organized by NVS recognized adventure institute RESERVATION A) Reservation of total seats in Class – Xi for various categories will be stipulated as per the following criteria: SC ST Girls Child 15% 7½% 33% Urban candidate Rural Candidate ----------------- 25% 75% ---- B) If 75% rural candidates are not available, seats will be distributed to urban students subsequently. A rural candidate will be one who passes Classes – X from the recognized school situated in rural area. C) Three percent seat will be kept reserved for physically handicapped students. How to apply for Admission in Class – XI in JNV A) B) C) D) The Principal of the concerned JNV shall work out vacancies in various streams of Class – XI immediately on receipt of CBSE result in respect of his Vidyalaya. The vacant seats available in each JNV will be notified in local newspaper by the concerned JNV. The Prospectus – cum Application form containing detailed instruction can be obtained free of cost from the office of Principal, JNV Ludhiana and Block Education officeres office. Application forms can also be downloaded from our office website http://www.jnvludhiana.org.in Neatly typed and Xeroxed copy of the application cab also be used for applying. Application forms filled in all respect are to be submitted to the office of Principal, JNV Ludhiana either through Registered Post or in person. ELIGIBLITY FOR ADMISSION IN CLASS – XI A) B) C) D) The students registered for the admission in class – XI shall be within the age limit upto 14-18 years. The candidate must have passed Class – X from a recognized school (affiliated to CBSE or any other Education Board) of the district Ludhiana. For admission in Class – XI, criteria of CBSE/other Education Board marks may be opted. The merit list will be prepared accordingly and the admission will be given as per seats available in the JNVs. The candidates must have reasonable competency in English and Hindi for Science and mathematics and the subjects of Humanities/ Commerce respectively.
