Alumni Association Awards
Nomination Process
The UMass Dartmouth Alumni Association strives to celebrate and engage alumni and
friends with the University and with each other through lifelong connections. The Alumni
Association Awards recognize alumni and members of the administration, faculty and staff
who have been outstanding in their service to the university or in their career
accomplishments.
With more than 55,000 UMass Dartmouth alumni worldwide, we’re relying on you to help us
identify outstanding candidates for each of these awards: Alumni Association Volunteer
Service Award, Alumni Association Achievement Award, Alumni Association University
Service Award, and Alumni Association Young Alumni Award.
To submit a nomination for any of the awards, please follow these steps:
1. The Nomination Form must be completed and submitted by April 30, 2015.
2. A supporting document outlining your reasons for nominating the individual must be
sent to the Alumni Relations Office at alumni@umassd.edu, via fax to 508.999.8773
or by mail to the Alumni Relations Office, 285 Old Westport Road, North Dartmouth,
MA 02747-2300.
3. Additional letters of support from colleagues, classmates, and/or documentation of
the nominee’s achievements (e.g., media clippings/links) may also be submitted to
the Alumni Relations Office (contact info above).
Nominees can also be considered for other awards if they are eligible. Alumni Association
board members are not eligible for awards until they have been off the board for one
complete year. Nomination forms for the Alumni Association Awards and supporting
documentation must be received in the Alumni Office by April 30, 2015.

Alumni Association Volunteer Service Award
Awarded to a dynamic and purposeful alumni volunteer whose loyal, unselfish, and
consistent service to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth or the Alumni
Association has enhanced the reputation and furthered the mission of the University.
Alumni Association Achievement Award
Presented to alumni who have distinguished themselves in their chosen field of
endeavor, profession or community, and who have enhanced the reputation of the
University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

Alumni Association University Service Award
Recognizes a current or past member of the administration, faculty or staff whose
service has contributed significantly to the success of and further enhanced the
reputation and mission of the University and the Alumni Association.
Alumni Association Young Alumni Award
Celebrates the accomplishments of an alumna/us who has graduated within the past 10
years, whose exceptional achievements in career, public service or volunteer activities
bring honor to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
