To consider and progress in a timely manner all UCAS applications for the relevant programme/s and to make decisions according to the applicant’s apparent ability to benefit from higher academic study, within the programmes available, in accordance with the equal opportunities policy. 2. To facilitate local interviewing or visits within the policy of the academic department and operate such events in an open and fair manner. 3. To recommend offers in a timely and clear manner to the Admissions Office, operating within the University policies for the recognition of qualifications, matriculation regulations and other relevant policies such as those in relation to Associate Colleges. 4. To be responsible for updating their own knowledge in relation to University policy and regulations and external changes to qualification frameworks, under guidance from the Admissions Officer, the Faculty Admissions Tutor and other colleagues. 5. To deal with international enquiries and applications rapidly in order to maximise returns from those competitive markets. 6. To attend appropriate training and become familiar with use of the computer admissions system. 7. To report to the Faculty Admissions Tutor and/or Admissions Officer any matters that are uncertain or require further consideration (e.g. matriculation cases, APL cases, suspected fraudulent applications). 8. To provide and review in response to market trends, entry requirements and any other information when required for publication in internal, UCAS or other advertising opportunities thus assisting in the promotion of the University. 9. To be available for consultation on University Open Days/Visit Days/other recruitment activities as organised by the Student Recruitment Directorate. and to represent their department at such events, or in their absence, to appoint another subject specialist. 10. To recommend to their department changes to provision of programmes in response to market trends in order to promote healthy recruitment; to maintain an overview of similar provision at other HEIs, preferably by annual review of prospectuses. 11. To be available to answer applicants’ queries or to make alternative arrangements within the department to enable a rapid and meaningful response to be provided at all times. 12. To be available throughout the Confirmation and Clearing period. 13. To provide timely updates on entry requirements and Entry Profiles when requested by the Admissions Service. 14. To fulfil any other duties associated with the recruitment and admission of students as required by the Head of Department.
