INDIANA STATE USBC BA PAUL SUTTON 2nd Vice-President ______________________________________________ 2011-2012 ANNUAL REPORT It has been quite a busy year for the 2nd Vice-President, listed below are my activities from August 1, 2011 to July 31, 2012; August: The month started with me representing President Nunning at the Greater INDY USBC annual League Presidents and Secretaries workshop. President Edy Cline and AM Corky Koch do an excellent job of training league officers in their association. The 14th I attended District 9 Director Dale Bennington’s district meeting in Bloomington, also in attendance was 1st Vice-President Pat Webster and District 7 Director AJ Hacker. The 21st I attended the IS USBC YA Board Meeting and Jamboree in Indianapolis, one of my duties as 2nd VP is to be a member of the YA board. September: The 10th I was in Anderson for the IS USBC BA Board training session conducted by Mike Kirkpatrick, Mike does an excellent job training each board member on his or her duties On the 11th I attended District 3 Director’s meeting in Warsaw, the 3rd district was completing plans for the 2011 IS USBC BA Jamboree. (pg 2) Sept. cont. Sept. 18th I was at the 5th District meeting in New Castle, a great turn out for this meeting at the last minute Director Bill Kendall was called into work and asked me to fill in for him. Sept 25th I was in Crown Point at the District 2 meeting, Director John Blasko did a great job bring his District up to date on what was going on in the state, also in attendance was IS USBC WBA AM Gerri Smolen. October: Oct. 13th,14th and ,15th The great IS USBC BA Jamboree was held in Warsaw, District 3 was quite the host. The IS USBC BA Board met Friday night and then we had seminars on Saturday Morning and Blind Draw Doubles tournament that afternoon. Saturday night was the meet and greet party, then Sunday was the tournament payout and dinner. Kudo’s to District 3 on a great job. Oct 23rd I was back in Bloomington for District 9 Director Dale Bennington’s district meeting. I think he is going to do a great job as director. Oct 30th I attended District 1 meeting in Greenfield, Director Brian Petry does a great job keeping his district up to date on what is going on, also in attendance was IS USBC BA President Brian Nunning. November: Nov 4th, 5th, 6th I worked the newest tournament the IS USBC BA has the Indiana Scratch Classic. Bowlers from all over the state competed by throwing a 6 game qualifier with the top 16 going to Sunday’s head to head match. December: Dec 4th was the training for the IS USBC BA Open Championship Tournament held in Fort Wayne, AM Dan Cappa and tournament manager Larry Owens went over the ins and out of working the tournament. (pg 3) Dec. Continued Dec. 5th I was invited and attended along with several other state officers the Greater Calumet Hall of Fame Banquet in Calumet City. Dec 11th I was in Winchester at the 5th District Meeting hosted by Randolph County USBC Dec 18th I attended a board meeting of the Anderson USBC BA January 2012: Jan. 8th District 6 director Kerry Caine invited me to Kokomo for a District 6 meeting, also present was IS USBC WBA President Judy Smith and IS USBC YA President Don Sparks. Jan 14 I was present at the IS USBC BA Board Meeting in Anderson. Jan 15 Was an IS USBC YA Board Meeting in INDY Jan 27th, 28th, and 29th I worked the Indiana State USBC BA Masters Tournament in Anderson. February: Feb 4th I attended the Wayne County USBC Hall of Fame Banquet, also present was IS USBC BA President Brian Nunning. Feb 11th The Open Championship Bracket team of which I was asked to be a part of this year met for training in Greenfield. Feb. 12th I was invited and attended the District 3 meeting in Syracuse Feb. 25th and 26th I was in Fort Wayne for the opening ceremonies of the Indiana State USBC BA Open Championship Tournament, I also worked the tournament at the team house both days. (pg 4) February continued: Feb. 25th I was asked by IS USBC BA President Brian Nunning to attend the Lafayette USBC HOF Banquet in his place as he had another engagement that evening. March: Mar. 3rd, and 4th I worked the IS USBC BA Open Championship Tournament brackets at the team house in Fort Wayne. Mar. 10th and 11th I bowled in the IS USBC BA Open Championship Tournament with 59 other bowlers from my local association Rushville USBC BA. Mar. 10th Attended a IS USBC BA Bracket team meeting in Fort Wayne Mar 24th and 25th I worked the team house at the IS USBC BA Open Championship Tournament in Fort Wayne. March 31st I was at the minors house at the IS USBC BA Open Championship Tournament. April: Apr. 1st I worked the minors house at the IS USBC BA Open Championship Tournament. Apr. 3rd I bowled in the Indiana State USBC BA State Seniors Tournament in New Castle. Apr. 14th and 15th Worked the brackets at the Indiana State USBC BA Open Championship Tournament in Fort Wayne. Apr. 21st and 22nd Worked at the minor’s house for the IS USBC BA Open Championship Tournament (pg 5) May: May 19th Attended IS USBC BA Board Meeting in Anderson May 20th Attended 5th District meeting in Anderson, it was also attended by President Brian Nunning, Directors Caine, Hacker, Bennington, and Cox. Tom Baxter IS USBC BA Communications Officer was also in attendance. June: June 3rd I was in Lafayette for District 7 meeting, I was invited by Director AJ Hacker to talk about the upcoming golf outing, also in attendance was 9th District Director Dale Bennington, Assn. AM Tom Baxter, and 3rd Vice-President John Brothers. June 17th I was the guest of District 9 at their meeting in Paoli, also in attendance was 3rd Vice–President John Brothers and District Director AJ Hacker. July: July 15th District 8 Director Mary Utley held a district meeting in Evansville and as her mentor I was in attendance, also there was IS USBC BA President Brian Nunning Respectively Submitted Paul Sutton 2nd Vice-President Indiana State USBC BA
