Week Beginning July 9th This half-term our topic is; ‘Water’ We are looking forward to another exciting week! Literacy We are continuing this week with our big book “Mrs WishyWashy”! We will be able to write a version of our own in a zigzag book on the free-writing table. In our phonics sessions we will be continuing to spell and read four- letter words. We will also be practising all previously learned vowel phonemes and playing a ‘missing sound’ game, using magnetic letters and our own whiteboards to help us. We will use our whiteboards to practise spelling with our partners, and play our ‘full circle’ game. Please note there will be no Guided Reading this week due to transition assessments. We ask that all Guided Reading books are returned to school. Thank you. Knowledge and Understanding In our session this week we will again be experiencing our own Victorian wash-day on our patio! We will be comparing it to how we wash our clothes today, and enjoying the water and bubbles! We are also going to visit our school wildlife garden and discover what is living in our pond! We are looking forward to building dens on our patio on Thursday this week, and Koalas and Polars will be visiting their new classes. OUR WHOLE SCHOOL HIKE TO ENDCLIFFE PARK IS TAKING PLACE ON WEDNESDAY THIS WEEK – LET’S HOPE THE SUN WILL SHINE FOR US!
