ADMISSION STUDENT
AMBASSADOR APPLICATION
Admission Student Ambassadors are an integral and necessary component in the
overall enrollment strategy of SUNY New Paltz. Each Ambassador serves as the initial contact
with prospective students and their families and is the “student voice" of SUNY New Paltz.
Application Procedure
1. Applications should be completed and typed.
2. Please return the completed application to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions no
later than Friday, October 16, 2009 or email to wawrznoj@newpaltz.edu
3. Selected Applicants will be called in for an interview. Interviews will take place the
week of November 2nd – November 6th
4. Selected Applicants will be notified by email on November 11th.
Required Qualifications






On Campus Residence is required
Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse public.
Student leader who is actively involved in campus activities
High level of motivation and reliability.
Written and Oral Skills are essential.
A daily schedule that allows you to commit fully to the expectations of the job.
Primary Responsibilities:




Campus Tours
Open Houses (Fall and Spring)
Select Weekend Days, about twice a month (9:30am-3:00pm)
Must be available at least one day a week Monday – Friday from 11:15-1:30 or Fridays
from 2:15 – 4:15
 Serve as host to walk-in visitors
 General office duties as necessary
 Student Ambassadors are also asked to assist with the training and hiring of CREW
members, and new Student Ambassadors. Assisting with organization and the set – up of
large scale events is also a requirement.
Temp Service: Students Ambassadors are paid for campus tours and Open
Houses in the Fall and Spring. First year Student Ambassadors make
9.00/hr for these activities.
Hours per week: The time commitment will vary depending on what events are in progress.
Approximately 2-6 hours per week .
