Conway High School Internship Program, a
partnership among business, industry, and
education, provides career success for students
through quality career training in high school
with continued training through careerrelated work experiences in medicine,
business and industry.

above minimum wage with an
opportunity for hourly pay increases
every 500 hours worked.
 Begin a two/four-year apprenticeship
while in high school.

EXPECTATIONS
FOR THE
EMPLOYER
The employer agrees to

Provide learning opportunities for the student
enrolled in the program during high school.

Assist the school in designing the curriculum
for the program.

Provide the student paid work experience and
guided learning opportunities for all aspects
of the career.


HIGH SCHOOL
WORK-BASED
TRAINING
FOR THE
STUDENT
The student agrees to

Adhere to Conway High School student
handbook rules.
Interns commit to work-based training that
starts full-time for the summer in June and 1220 hours per week during the school year in
the following areas:

Commit to 12-20 hours of work each week
during the school year.

Maintain at least a “C” average.
 Agricultural Science

Maintain at least a 95% attendance record in
school and work.

Provide transportation for work.

Arrive on time daily for both school and
work, and if late or absent for reasons beyond
student’s control, will call the appropriate
personnel.

Arrive at the workplace properly dressed.

Meet job requirements and expectations as
outlined by the employer and the Internship
Coordinator.
Provide the student with a
mentor/supervisor.

Monitor progress of the student and work
with all partners in evaluating the
effectiveness of the initiative.

Student application requirements include the
following:
 Minimum Grade Point Average of 2.0
 Career Focus GPA of 3.0
 Less than 6 absences per year
 Three teacher recommendations
 One non-educator recommendation
