2009-2010 CSULA GRADUATE STUDENT ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIPS GENERAL INFORMATION ALL APPLICANTS Thank you for your interest in the 2009-10 CSULA Graduate Student Alumni Scholarships. The Graduate Student Alumni Scholarships are awarded by the Alumni Association to graduate students at CSULA who have demonstrated leadership and achievement in their academic department, college, professional career, and community. The Alumni Scholarships are distributed in Winter Quarter of each year, and are currently awarded in the amount of $1,750 per student. The directions below will assist you in the completion of your application. APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY All eligible candidates must meet the following requirements at the time application is submitted: Have a degree objective and possess “Graduate Classified” standing at CSULA (check with your department or the registrar’s office if you are unsure of your standing). GPA 3.5 or above. Must plan to enroll during Winter 2010 quarter (distribution of award is contingent on confirmed enrollment). Completion of 16 graduate level college units from CSULA at the time application is submitted. APPLICANT SELECTION Once applications are submitted, the Alumni Association will verify all appropriate information, including cumulative GPA and units completed. All eligible applications will be read and evaluated by members of the Alumni Association Scholarship Committee. Applications will be evaluated on the basis of accomplishments, demonstrated leadership, letters of recommendation, essay, and overall impression. The application screening process will take place on January 9, 2010 and the semi-finalists will be invited to participate in a mandatory interview on January 30, 2010. After the interviews, the final candidates will be selected. Check awards will be distributed at the Alumni Scholarship Brunch on Sunday, February 21, 2010.
