JOB & PERSON SPECIFICATION GRADUATE TRAINEE JOB TITLE: Graduate Trainee REPORTS TO: Senior Contract Manager/ Contract Manager/Deputy Contract Manager/ Team Leader/Placement Manager (depending on post) & Graduate Scheme Sponsors DEPARTMENT: Operations COMPILER: Deputy Director, HR/L&D DATE: January 2013 RESPONSIBLE FOR: Assistant Support Workers / domestic staff/PSAs (where appropriate) Overall Purpose To complete Look Ahead’s Graduate Scheme in supporting vulnerable people to move towards greater independence within the community by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package. Key Responsibilities Graduate Trainees will be required to demonstrate strengths in all the indicators set out in the relevant Look Ahead Competency Model. More specifically, the post-holder will: Undertake two 6 monthly placements in Operations (within an Accommodation Based Service and a Floating Support Service) Develop support work skills under the guidance of the Line Manager and team members including key-working, undertaking assessment of needs/risk assessments, supporting action plans and developing links with key agencies etc. Undertake specific performance improvement projects as assigned by the Line Manager or Programme Sponsor. Complete a Graduate/Line Manager Agreement Complete Look Ahead's ‘Bridge Programme’ (Training for management positions) Attend regular programme sponsor meetings to review progress against objectives Adhere to Look Ahead’s Policies and Procedures. Engage in learning and development activity to increase knowledge and skills. Provide day-to-day instruction/supervision of Assistant Support Workers/domestic staff/PSAs where appropriate. Undertake any other duties consistent with the grade and nature of the post as may be reasonably assigned. The above sets out the post’s key responsibilities.
