The UCOP Leadership Development Program develops individual leadership abilities and builds a diverse pipeline of future leaders. Participants are high-performers with potential for leadership and taking on a larger scope of responsibility. They currently manage people and/or projects.
Objective: Participants will learn UC strategy, goals and issues. They will learn and practice leadership tools that prepare them to be leaders who are capable of meeting the challenges of
UCOP’s changing environment with a focus in the following areas:
Leading
Collaboration and Teamwork
Managing People
Strategy and Decision Making
Problem Solving
Communicating Effectively as an OP Leader
Participants engage in a variety of learning experiences over 9 months, including leadership workshops, case studies, 360° assessments, team projects, and interactions with senior leaders.
Selection is based on the following criteria:
Manages people and/or projects with a broad scope of responsibility
Successfully completed at least one year in current position at UCOP
As indicated by strong performance in current position, o Demonstrates capability, commitment and capacity to grow o Contributes to the mission and vision of UCOP o Acts with integrity and treats others with respect
Commits to participating in the 9 structured workshops

Expected time commitment is approximately 1 to 2 days a month. Project work will require additional time and meetings.
