In order to facilitate your arrival and registration, please pay attention to the following information. I. Required Documents for Visa Application 1. Application form Fill in the online visa Application form and print it out. (Available on the website: https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw/BOCA_MRVWeb/subroot/MRVWeb0_form.jsp ) 2. Two 2-inch photos 3. Original passport with 6 month-term of validity and a photocopy 4. Admission Letter 5. 6. 7. 8. II. Original Financial Statement and a photocopy Certificate of Physical Examination and a photocopy Official transcript of the highest level school and a photocopy Original highest degree diploma and a photocopy (Note: These documents of no.5 to 8 should be written in a language other than Chinese or English, the English or Chinese translation of the original documents is required and has to be verified with official stamps by a Taiwanese Representative office overseas.) National Health Insurance (NHI) International students can apply to enroll NHI through the university after a continuous residence within Taiwan for six months starting the day when obtaining Alien Resident Certificate (ARC). Please note that during this 6-month residence, you are only allowed for leaving Taiwan once with less than 30 days. 2. Cathay Life Insurance Group Foreign Students Health Insurance Before you enroll NHI, a purchase of insurance from your own country or Taiwan during your stay in Taiwan is required. The insurance fee per month purchased in Taiwan starting from August 30th is NTD 500. If you arrive earlier than August 30th, you need to buy your own health insurance covering form your arriving date. III. Pick-up Service Pick-up service is provided by 18:00 on August 30th. If you need the service, please e-mail your flight schedule details to Ms. Larissa Kao (icae@scu.edu.tw) by July 21. IV. Check in and Orientation Day 1. Accommodation on campus is reserved for you. If you do not need the room on campus, please let us know by July 21 via email (icae@scu.edu.tw). The check-in service starts from August 30 to September 4th. Your reservation will be automatically cancelled if you don’t show up from August 30 to September 4th. 2. Registration for undergraduate students: Registration and an orientation will be held for undergraduate students from August 31th to September 4th. For the time table, please see the attachment 1. 3. Registration for graduate students : Registration and an orientation will be held for graduate students from September 1st to September 4th. For the time table, please see the attachment 2.
