Director of Admissions
Jackson-Walnut Park Schools seeks a Director of Admissions to oversee all aspects of the admissions
process from point of inquiry through matriculation and retention. JWP is an educational collaborative
consisting of Walnut Park Montessori School and Jackson Elementary School and is located in the
city of Newton.
The Director of Admissions will be responsible for the design and implementation of a marketing
strategy with the goal of maintaining a diverse student body in an authentic Montessori pre-school
serving children between the ages of 18 months and 6 years old, and a Catholic K-6 grade elementary
school committed to outstanding learning and social justice.
Admissions duties include:

oversight and coordination of all aspects of the admissions process,

communicating with prospective families and processing applications,

researching and developing relationships with feeder schools and implementing a recruitment
plan,

compiling a periodic newsletter with information from the schools that will be used as an online recruitment tool, as well as news for current parents

serving as an ambassador to the wider community through events and facilitation of
international student immersion program

establishing relationships with editorial and advertising personnel; creation, oversight and
distribution of on-line marketing and other outreach materials to media outlets, associations,
corporation, real estate agencies, churches, and other organizations that can be helpful in
attracting quality students,

collecting and analyzing data about demographic changes, and specific enrollment trends to
inform enrollment planning,

creation and administration of the admissions budget
The Director of Admissions reports to the President of the JWP Collaborative, and works closely with
the Principal of the Jackson School and with the Montessori Head of School. He/she also collaborates
with the Director of Mission Advancement and manages aspects of the School's website.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, and direct experience in managing admissions
processes for elementary schools and Montessori schools. He or she will possess excellent oral and
written communication skills, inter-personal and organizational skills, and be proficient in MS Word,
Excel, and desktop publishing.
