Forge Valley Community School JOB DESCRIPTION The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment POST TITLE Enrichment and Community Co-ordinator ROLE PROFILE LD3.5 (Grade 5) SALARY RANGE £19621 - £22958 RESPONSIBLE TO Deputy Headteacher RESPONSIBLE FOR HOLIDAY AND SICKNESS RELIEF PURPOSE OF JOB Deputy Headteacher To co-ordinate the school’s programme of enrichment activities To establish and maintain links with the Forge Valley Family of Schools, external agencies and community organisations To develop the school’s adult and community learning provision JOB DESCRIPTION FOR POST OF:- ENRICHMENT & COMMUNITY CO-ORDINATOR SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The postholder must at all times carry out his/her responsibilities within the spirit of the school’s policies and procedures, in particular policies on Equal Opportunities, Safeguarding Children and Young People and Health and Safety and also, within the framework of the Education Act 1996 and Employment Law, with particular regard to the statutory responsibilities of the Governing Bodies of schools. The person appointed will be expected to carry out the responsibilities listed below in conjunction with other people as appropriate, in a manner that is in keeping with the school’s aims and ethos by promoting and developing a culture to ensure diversity within the school community is recognised by actively promoting anti racist and anti oppressive practice. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Enrichment programme To liaise with staff to agree the menu of activities on offer to students To develop a costed delivery plan for the enrichment programme To co-ordinate students’ choices of activity To manage the budget for enrichment activities To ensure that risk assessments and safe practices are in place To liaise with outside agencies and providers to deliver activities To keep accurate records of attendance and participation on enrichment activities To encourage parents and other family members to support and contribute to the enrichment programme To liaise with the school’s Healthy Schools Co-ordinator and catering providers to establish and run a breakfast club Community Links To agree a calendar of joint activities with our family of schools To liaise with the link person in each partner school to arrange activities To ensure that the appropriate staff are fully informed of arrangements for activities To ensure that all arrangements are in place for the joint activities to run smoothly To link with community organisations to ensure that the school plays a key role in the local community To promote the use of school facilities for community events To maintain a link with the extended schools network Community and Adult Learning To develop a programme of adult, family and community learning To audit community needs and interests to inform the offer To liaise with outside agencies and providers To explore possibilities for income generation to support adult and community learning To ensure all arrangements for accommodation, resources and delivery are in place To seek opportunities for family learning General To provide termly reports for the Leadership Team and governors covering enrichment, community links and adult learning To explore possibilities for income generation to support the enrichment and community programmes To liaise with the school’s community sports team to provide a programme of activities for young people and the community which runs throughout the year including in school holidays To link with the school’s enterprise and sports development staff to ensure a cohesive and complementary approach to the school’s community programme Any other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the grade and role All the above duties and responsibilities to be carried out in accordance with Forge Valley Community School’s Policies, Standing Orders and current legislation with an emphasis on Customer Care, Equal Opportunities, Data Protection and Health and Safety.
