AIC is pleased to announce the opening of a BRAND NEW FREE-STANDING OUTPATIENT
IMAGING FACILITY and a WOMEN’S IMAGING CENTER in Palmdale, one block from
Palmdale Regional Hospital. AIC is the first and only outpatient imaging facility in the city of
Palmdale. We are rolling out brand new equipment and services in Palmdale, some of which are
the very first in the Antelope Valley. They include:
1. A 3T MRI (Ultra High-Field, Open Style) – Introducing a brand new state-of-the-art
Siemens 3-Tesla 16-channel Verio MRI with TIM Technology, a 70-cm open bore, and a
550-lbs weight limit. The only one of its kind within a 70-mile radius. The 70-cm bore (as
opposed to the standard 60-cm bores) is similar to a CT, thus drastically reducing claustrophobia.
3T is twice the field strength of a standard 1.5T high-field MRI. (3 Tesla = ULTRA High Field)
Advanced Features: 16 channels for maximum speed and resolution, MR Spectroscopy,
Functional MRI (fMRI), MRI Tensor Imaging and other advanced Neuroimaging, 16-channel
Neurovascular/spine coils, 16-channel musculoskeletal coils, Breast MRI, MRI-guided Breast
Biopsy, inline MR Diffusion for Breast and other tumors, High-resolution MRA Angiography,
just to name a few. TIM (Total Imaging Matrix) allows for joining of contiguous body parts
(such as C/T/L spine, abdomen/pelvis, etc).
Bottom line: The ONLY 3T MRI in the Antelope Valley; the most technologically advanced, the
fastest, and the highest-resolution MRI in the area.
2. PET-CT (40 Slices) – Introducing a new Cutting-Edge Siemens 40-slice PET-CT. The only
one of its kind within a 100-mile radius.
3. A 40/64 slice CT features: Diagnostic CT scans (head to toe), Full body CT Angiography
(CTA), Coronary CTA, Cardiac Functional Analysis, Advanced 3D workstation, just to name a
few.
Advanced Features: Whole body PET/CT in minutes. Automatic attenuation correction. The
most advanced and accurate PET (and the only PET/CT) in the Antelope Valley. The first choice
for oncologists who are looking for subtle residual or recurrent tumors.
Bottom line: The ONLY PET-CT in the Antelope Valley; the most cutting-edge, the fastest, and
the highest-resolution PET in the area for oncologic and brain PET scanning.
4. DIGITAL MAMMOGRAPHY with Computer-Aided Detection (CAD). A brand new
Hologic Digital mammography. The latest cutting-edge technology.
5. Nuclear Medicine, SPECT
6. X-ray
7. Ultrasound (Routine, OB, Vascular Doppler, 3D/4D).
8. ADVANCED WOMEN’S IMAGING
The new Women’s Imaging Wing (a separate wing offering maximum privacy to our female
patients) offers Digital Mammography with CAD, Breast MR Mammography, Breast Ultrasound,
OB/GYN Ultrasound (3D/4D), and DEXA Bone Density. We also offer BREAST BIOPSIES
under ultrasound and under MRI (MR-Guided Breast Biopsy) and Core-biopsy (work in
progress).
9. PACS/RIS – Complete Digital facility, paperless with EMR (Radiology Information System
or RIS) using AIC’s very own FDA-Approved EZ-PACS and EZ-RIS.
