School finishes on Friday 11 December at 3pm.
Farewell
Farewell to staff leaving at the end of this year.
Mrs Nikki Tarapa, Maori & Pasifika Champion; Mr Robert Gill,
Caretaker; Mr Andrew Jamieson, Room 5 teacher: Mrs Karina Sharpe,
Science teacher; Mrs Mandy Taylor, Drama teacher; and Mr Alan
Surrey, Room 40 teacher. Some are moving onto other positions
within education and others, retiring. From the BOT and colleagues,
we thank you all and wish you well for the future.
Over 300 students leave at the end of this year. Most are Year 8’s and
they head off to secondary schools all around New Zealand and the
world. We wish our departing students all the best with their
continued learning pathways.
Prize Giving
Our school prize giving was held yesterday. It was a wonderful
occasion showcasing our students. Congratulations to all the
awardees – you should be very proud of yourself.
Start of 2016
Year 8 students start on Thursday 4 February. They will meet in the
school all at 8.40 am. School will finish at 3.00 pm. A letter will be sent
home with details about the start of the 2016 school year.
Year 7 students start on Wednesday 3 February. There will be a
powhiri welcome at 8.40 am. School will finish at 3.00 pm.
The school Student Centre will be open from Wednesday 27 January
2016 from 8.30am-3.30pm. Stationery and second-hand uniform can
be purchased from then. Buses will be running from Wednesday 3
February.
PTA Gift to the School
The PTA has purchased a heart defibrillator which will be installed in
the office area. A very big thanks you to the PTA and to everyone who
supported the raffle last term.

If you know that your child will not be returning to Pukekohe
Intermediate next year, please contact the school with this

Lost Property
We have a large amount of lost property in the Student Centre. If your
child is missing any uniform items, please have them come in and look
for it. At the end of the year, all unclaimed uniform will be sold on
behalf of the school.

2016 Year 8 Camp Chocolate Fundraiser
There are still a few boxes of chocolates available to sell towards your child’s camp
fund. If you want more chocolates to sell over the Christmas break, please send a
note to the Student Centre. Please have all other chocolate money back to school
before the end of the year. A reminder that for every full box sold, $18 will be
credited to your child's camp fund.

Launch into reading with Auckland Libraries’ FUN, FREE summer reading adventure! ‘Dare to
Explore’ is back with a captivating ‘Dare to Unlock the Secret’ theme for summer 2015 – 16. Sign
up and collect your activity booklet from your local library. Unlock the world of mysteries and
hidden messages, read about famous spies, explore the world of cracking codes and complete fun
challenges wherever and however you spend your holidays. Visit the library to collect stamps and
stickers along the way. Complete 4 challenges and get an invitation to a party to receive your

COUNTIES MANUKAU HOCKEY ASSOCIATION JANUARY BREAKAWAY
HOLIDAY PROGRAMME
This programme is a great opportunity to learn new skills, develop as a player and have
