I am interesting in problems of bone mineral density at children with a different somatic pathology. Alsough I take part in studing of psychocharacteristic peculiarities and behavior stereotypes formation at the adolescents on the background of different endocrine pathology. In 2003 took the candidat of medical science degree. The thesis theme was “Bone Mineral Density and Correction of its Disturbances in Children with Diabetes Mellitus”. Abstract of the Thesis for a candidat of medical science degree of medicine in speciality 14.01.10 Pediatrics. Danyla Galytsky Lviv State Medical University. Lviv, 2003. The work is devoted to improvement of diagnostics and development of methods of correction of bones mineralisation disturbanses in children with diabetes mellitus type I. At 95 children in the age of from 5 till 15 years with diabetes mellitus, the research of а bone mineral density using the method of dual energy x-ray absorptiometry with parallel study of phosphoric-calcium metabolism and some biochemical markers of bone turnover were spent. The influence of modificated treatment on bones mineralisation disturbanses of children with diabetes mellitus was simultaneously investigated. According to a dual-energy x-ray densitometry, at 61,1 % surveyed the different degrees of decreasing of bone mineral density were revealed, that it is possible to regard as complication of diabetes and to define by the term “diabetic osteopathy”. The offered scheme of treatment of a diabetic osteopathy, which included vitamin D and calcium glycerophosphate, at all treated patients promoted improvement of a mineralization of lumbar vertebras with normalization of а bone mineral density or decrease of a degree of gravity of an osteopathy in 68,8 % of cases whereas at all nontreated children the demineralization of vertebras in dynamics tended to a progressing with transition of an osteopathy in 57,1 % of cases in more serious degree. Normalization of phosphoric-calcium turnover аnd of an osteal tissue metabolism in our patients after the treatment also was noticed. Key words: diabetes mellitus, bone mineral density, calcium, phosphorus, bone metabolism, vitamin D.
